I started my first construction business in 2013 with $600 cash and DIY tools tarped onto a lawnmower trailer.
12 years later and I'm travel building all over the country for clients in search of an unforgettable building experience.
I've learned enough to know that I will always be learning, and it's the thrill of that learning which fuels my passion for building.

I've always known how to build and fix anything, but I didn't always know how to run a construction business. My first few years, profits were completely unpredictable. Estimates were more like guesstimates. The "get 3 bids" rule proved one thing: Everyone prices differently, and there's no such thing as an apples-to-apples comparison with contractors.
Each builder has their own unique vision.
And those inconsistencies drove me nuts.
I needed to create systems, and here's how I did it:

First step was to gather as much information as possible so I could fully understand the scope of the problems I was facing. Since all of the learning I required would have to be on-the-job, I invented a tool for capturing the jobsite experience that could be worn by the entire crew: The Brain Bucket.
Proprietary jobsite data capture and labor analysis tool worn by workers to research and record the jobsite!
Features: group intercom communication system, movement monitors, tactical lighting system, illuminated safety visor, impact-rated head protection, and video cameras.
With actionable data now being the driving force behind our designs, it didn't take long to fully optimize this 20' enclosed trailer into its hyper-efficient configuration. As a result, every one of our clients now enjoy the benefits of this time and money-saving setup. The mobile command center features off-grid power supply, onboard water storage with working sink, climate control, hardware library, all the tools needed for frame-to-finish construction, refrigerator and microwave, computer, video production studio, and the entire
Brain Bucket jobsite data capture and labor analysis system.
Data has opened our eyes to so much information the rest of the industry has never imagined. This video shows an alternative building method under prototype development called The RES: Rapid Envelope System. This is one of many technologies invented with the unique insights the Brain Bucket has provided, and there are more breakthroughs still on the way.
In 2026 I'm bringing all of the knowledge gained while working for The Tool Hacker Laboratories to the next generation of skilled laborers by teaching full-time for a local community trade school. My students will learn how to prototype their invention ideas, how to build using alternative methods and materials, and how to create value on any jobsite.

As students from all ages and backgrounds begin learning inside the Brain Bucket, we will turn those teaching moments into modules for educating the public at large about building science, jobsite safety, best practices, construction innovation and more. Open source, free for everyone, the way all trades knowledge should be!
